Digital Switchover
The UK is moving toward a digital age. Both the landline telephone and 2G/3G mobile networks are changing, which may impact council services for residents.
Meldon is a small community in Mid Northumberland west of Morpeth. The Parish is dispersed with a small number of settlements and outlying farms. In the 2011 Census, there were 248 people living in the Parish in 113 households. The Parish Council has a maximum of nine Councillors. The Councils meets about five times a year with extra meetings if necessary. The Council does not have any committees nor does it own any land.

Between now and 2027, most telephone providers will be moving their customers from old analogue landlines to new upgraded landline services using fibre technology
